Live Life With Enthusiasm!
Enthusiasm is the mother of effort, and with out it nothing spectacular was ever achieved.
~Ralph Waldo Emerson
Enthusiasm first appeared in English in 1603. The supply of the word is the Greek enthousiasmos, which originally comes from the adjective entheos, “having God within,” shaped from en, “in, inside,” and theos, “God.” Over time the definition of enthusiasm turned extended to “rapturous inspiration like that brought on by God” to “a very confident belief that one is inspired by God.”
Make no mistake about it. I am no stranger to turbulent times. I’ve been chewed up and spit out like a bitter lemon. However I don’t dwell there. I choose to pick myself up, lick my wounds and move on. I noticed early in my childhood that the quicker I get my head back into the game the better off I am. The way I see it’s that all of us have limitless “at bats”. If we strike out, we get to swing again again… and again. As a Christian business consultant I see it repeatedly where people get knocked down and never get back up. A business coach can’t make them swing again. We can encourage with enthusiasm!
It totally baffles me when somebody is doing their job half heartedly with a lackadaisical attitude. They undergo the motions, just barely above flat lining. If it’s worth doing… it’s worth doing with passion and enthusiasm! I’ve gone to the dentist with enthusiasm, because I was truly glad to have my teeth sparkly white. I have paid my taxes with enthusiasm because I was glad to have a job. I’ve shoveled horse $#!+ with enthusiasm only for the straightforward fact I was getting paid. The secret is to give attention to the “why”. What’s the reason WHY you are doing a task. In the event you can’t find a passionate reason… it’s good to move on.
Don’t be confused, I’m not saying to walk through life and suppose all the pieces is always peaches and roses. However, I do propose that you should be optimistic and a realist. Stay in actuality, and dwell on the positive. We live under the American Flag and it’s our priviledge to pursue happiness.
The ultimate point I’ll endeavor to make is that in all conditions you should be thankful.
In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
I Thessalonians 5:18
Notice is does not say “FOR” everything give thanks… I’m surly not grateful for oil on our beaches. Nevertheless it does says “IN” everything give thanks. I am thankful our community is coming together and everyone is prepared to help.
When you’re feeling down and torpid, go clean each single item you own. You’ll see how blessed you really are.
